Grades K-2 – Hybrid Informational Writing

A cross between narrative and expository has many overlapping characteristics that highlight visuals, accuracy and a delightful writing style.

Teachers will be able to show students how to write in an engaging writing style for nonfiction. Teachers will use nonfiction picture books to help students explore the many different ways they can learn about a topic. In addition to teaching organization, they will experience how to teach students to notice how authors grab readers attention. They will explore new ways to clearly explain new terms. Teachers will be exposed to new creative ways to present information that will encourage students to write so that readers have interaction with text.
